26 December، 2020

The Secretary-General of the Academy, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Sano, received His Eminence Eng. Solaiman Elkhereiji and his delegation at his office in Jeddah on Tuesday 7 Jumada Al-Oula 1442, corresponding to 22 December 2020.

His Excellency welcomed the honorable delegation, where His Excellency expressed, on behalf of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Waqf Fund, H.E. Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid, his deep gratitude and high appreciation to His Eminence Ing. Solaiman Elkhereiji, for his generous initiative to endow an apartment in Makkah Al-Mukarramah for the Academy’s Waqf Fund. This endowment is therefore the first endowment registered in the name of the Waqf Fund of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy since its inception.

His Excellency took this opportunity to call upon the benefactors and philanthropists in Muslim world to support this Fund in order to enable the Academy to meet the expectations of the Muslim world and achieve the objectives and hopes placed in it as the first jurisprudential reference for Muslim countries and societies.

For his part, Eng. Solaiman Elkhereiji expressed his joy for this good work -by the grace of Allah the Almighty-, which will contribute to support the Academy’s progress.

It should be noted that the establishment of a special Waqf Fund for the International Islamic Fiqh Academy is due to the historic decision of the OIC Ministerial Council of Foreign Ministers of Muslim Countries, provided that the incomes of the Fund are spent to support the Academy’s budget.

The meeting was attended by H. Em. Dr. Omar Zuhair Hafez, Member of the Supervisory Board of the Waqf Fund, and Mr. Muhammad Solaiman Elkhereiji.
