The Secretary General of the Academy, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, chaired the 31st weekly meeting of the Academy’s departments on Monday 12 Shawal 1442 corresponding to 24 May 2021.
His Excellency opened the meeting by congratulating the participants on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, and expressed his sincere thanks for the congratulatory telegram received from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz – Sovereign of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the headquarters state, may Allah protect him and his Crown Prince. His Excellency took this opportunity to commend the role of the Kingdom in supporting and facilitating the mission of the Academy with all possible means and capacities for the service of Islam and Muslims.
His Excellency then reviewed his visit to Malaysia and his efforts to unify the voice of the Academy by signing memoranda of understanding and activating some of these memoranda, such as the one with the Islamic Affairs Department directly affiliated to the Prime Minister’s Office. His Excellency also discussed with the National Fatwa Committee, which comprises fourteen muftis of the fourteen states of Malaysia, a set of issues, particularly the resolution and statement on taking Covid-19 vaccine issued by the Academy, and which has had a significant impact within Muslim countries. His Excellency also held a consultative meeting with the members of the Fiqh Council of Malaysia.
His Excellency expressed his thanks to the research and encyclopedia department for preparing the invitation letters for the twenty-fifth session. His Excellency thanked Mrs. Sarah Amjad, director of the family and women’s department, for sending all the letters to the recipients in record time. His Excellency also thanked Mr. Mourad Al-Tlili, H.E. Advisor of His Excellency for Media, for publishing the English articles and news on the Academy’s website on behalf of Mr. Jawzi Lardjane, who was on personal leave.
The meeting resulted in several decisions, notably:
-To prepare a brochure for the Strategic Plan according to the new arrangement of the departments’ activities and according to each department responsible for these activities.
-To publish the fourth edition of the book of resolutions on the Academy’s website.
-To prepare a semi-annual report on the programs and activities of the Secretariat General of the Academy.
