His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), presided on Thursday, 03 Muharram 1443H corresponding to August 12, 2021G, the nineteenth periodic meeting of divisions heads at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy.
His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, congratulating them on the new Hijri year, praying to God to make it a year of goodness and blessing for the Muslim Ummah and humanity at large. His Excellency then moved to the subject of the Academy’s strategic plan, where he stressed the need to ensure the implementation of all its provisions, in coordination and cooperation with the rest of the department’s staff, and urged the attendees to take the initiative to express the necessary proposals and opinions in order to achieve the desired goals of the plan.
Then His Excellency the Secretary General spoke about the necessity of giving conferences and scientific symposia of the Academy the attention they deserve, as they are no less valuable and important than the Annual Session, and he instructed the Conferences Department to implement the activities and programs included in the strategic plan so that the activities of the Academy are evenly distributed throughout the whole year. He also pointed out the importance of organizing some seminars in partnership with the relevant authorities in the member countries to benefit all and the Academy achieves the desired exposure.
The meeting discussed a number of issues and reached a few decisions, the most important of which are:
- Preparing specialized scientific symposia and spreading them evenly throughout the year and organize some of them in partnership with relevant institutions in the member states of the Academy, such as the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal).
- The importance of early preparation for the Annual Sessions of the Academy for the next four years, starting with identifying the host countries and early call for papers in order to facilitate the implementation of the goals of the Academy and its five-year strategic plan.
