The Commissioner of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Republic of Chad visits IIFA headquarters in Jeddah

His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), received His Eminence Haroon Mohammed Saleh Al-Essa, Commissioner of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Republic of Chad to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Thursday, 17 Muharram 1443H corresponding to August 26, 2021D, in his office in Jeddah.

His Excellency the Secretary General welcomed his guest and the accompanying delegation, thanking them for their visit to the headquarters of the General Secretariat, and expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Republic of Chad for its support to the Academy since its establishment to this day. Then His Excellency presented a brief overview of the Academy’s vision, mission, and objectives, as well as the recent developments in the General Secretariat. His Excellency also praised the generous care and great appreciation that the Academy enjoys from the member states of the organization, especially the African group, where the consuls general to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had previously visited the General Secretariat and expressed their support and keenness on the success of His Excellency in his tasks, especially strengthening relations of cooperation and partnership between the Academy and the leading scientific institutions within the states of the African Group, through holding specialized scientific conferences and symposia in these countries, in addition to some of them hosting the Annual Session of the Academy, similar to the rest of the member states, in order to benefit all Muslims in the African continent.

For his part, His Eminence Haroon Mohammed Saleh Al-Essa expressed his happiness and gratitude to His Excellency the Secretary General for the warm welcome, and praised the rapid developments witnessed by the Academy at all levels, especially with regard to direct and continuous communication with the Member States. He also gave His Excellency an overview of the coordination tasks carried out by the Office of the Commissioner of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Chad. He also expressed the Commission’s aspiration to build close cooperation relations with the Academy in order to benefit from the capabilities of the Academy, especially its resolutions, recommendations, and publications, as well as holding joint conferences and seminars in the Republic of Chad.

His Eminence then took the opportunity to present the invitation of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs to His Excellency to pay an official visit to the Republic of Chad in the near future. His Excellency accepted the invitation and promised to make the visit as soon as possible. His Excellency also directed the Department of International Cooperation to prepare a draft memorandum of cooperation between the Academy and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs to identify areas of cooperation and coordination between the two sides.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Abdul Rahim Angari, Director of Development at the Council, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Adam, Director of Education Programs at the Council, and Mr. Mourad TLiLi, Advisor to the Secretary General for Media and Public Relations at the Academy.

For his part, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
