His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired on Thursday, 17 Muharram 1443H corresponding to August 26, 2021G, the twentieth periodic meeting of divisions heads at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy.

His Excellency welcomed the attendees and stressed the need to ensure the implementation of all items of the strategic plan to make certain the success of the Academy in achieving its goals and the aspirations of the member states. He also urged everyone to participate in constructive proposals and creative ideas in order to contribute to enriching the Academy’s outputs of various programs and activities. His Excellency also added that it is necessary to prepare in advance for the next four Annual Sessions by confirming the names of the hosting countries and early call for papers of the topics that will be discussed during them.

Then His Excellency noted the importance of documenting all the periodic meetings in written minutes and publishing them successively on the official website of the Academy and in the monthly bulletin, in order to ensure continuity and good follow-up and completion of activities and programs.

The meeting discussed a number of issues and topics, and took a number of decisions, the most important of which are:

1. Expedite the sending of the Academy’s publications to universities in the member states.
2. Issuing a quarterly magazine for the Academy, the first issue of which will be during the month of September, provided that it is issued twice a year only.
3. Assigning the Planning Department to draft the biographies of the departed members of the Academy in the form of articles in preparation for publishing them in the next issue of the Academy’s monthly bulletin.
