His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the forty-fourth weekly meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments, on Monday Safar 06, 1443H, corresponding to September 13, 2021G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees, and thanking everyone for attending, then His Excellency spoke about the upcoming scientific symposium entitled “Cryptocurrencies” which will be held next November in Jeddah. The symposium will consist of a group of specialized scholars who will participate by presenting scientific research on this subject, and some other scholars will be invited to participate virtually through video technology. His Excellency called on everyone to start preparing for this symposium and stressed the need for cooperation between departments to make it a success.
His Excellency discussed the provisions of the decisions issued in the previous meeting and the follow-up of what has been accomplished of these decisions. Several new decisions were issued by the meeting, the most important of which are:
- Starting the necessary preparations of booking hotel rooms and airline tickets for the participants in the cryptocurrency symposium scheduled to be held in the second week of November.
- Remind all departments to report on what they have accomplished during this year until the end of August, in order to prepare the annual report of the Academy, which consists of the activities and programs of these departments.
- Organizing an inspection visit for His Excellency the Secretary General to the site of the Waqf apartment donated by Engineer Suleiman Al-Khuraiji in Makkah Al-Mukarramah at the beginning of next October.
- Finalize the procedures related to opening an account for the IIFA’s Waqf Fund.
