His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaire d the forty-fifth weekly meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments, on Monday Safar 13, 1443H, corresponding to September 20, 2021G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees and thanking everyone for regularly attending the meetings. Then His Excellency spoke about the tenth edition of the Academy newsletter that included a touch of commemoration and gratitude to a group of the departed scholars of the Academy. His Excellency also spoke about the upcoming scientific symposium entitled “Encrypted Digital Currencies” which date has been confirmed for the eighth of next November, stressing the importance of early preparation, and called on all departments to fully cooperate, and make more efforts to ensure its success.
His Excellency discussed the provisions of the decisions issued in the previous meeting and the follow-up of what has been accomplished of these decisions. Several decisions were issued by the meeting, the most important of which are:
- Submitting a report on the confirmed number of muftis in member states and Muslim societies, in order to start inviting the heads and secretaries of the Ifta Institutions and bodies.
- Identifying the research presenters in the Encrypted Digital Currencies Symposium and informing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the symposium’s date and the number of participants.
- Contacting the selected scholars to present lectures in the Academy’s Forum, in order for them to choose the topics they wish to present, provided that they are about current issues.
