Dr. Abdel Fattah Mahmoud Abnauf participates in the 35th session of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent

Dr. Abdel-Fattah Mahmoud Abnauf, Director of Planning and International Cooperation Department at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), representing the Secretary General of the Academy, participated in the opening of the Thirty-fifth Session of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), at the organization’s headquarters in Jeddah, on Wednesday and Thursday 2-3 Jumada II 1443H corresponding to 5-6 January 2022G.

In his speech on behalf of His Excellency the Secretary General of the Academy, Dr. Abnauf affirmed that the Academy welcomes all cooperation that supports humanitarian issues and contributes to achieving the goals of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent. His Eminence also added that among the strategic objectives of the Academy is a direct response to the reasons for expressing the Shariah opinion and its impact on life and the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, which in essence is in tandem with the objectives of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent, which seeks to alleviate the suffering of victims of disasters, conflicts, and wars in the Muslim world and beyond.

Concluding his speech, he affirmed the readiness of the Academy’s General Secretariat to mobilize all its capabilities and resources to support the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent in its sincere efforts to help and provide relief to the needy and those affected by natural disasters, epidemics, wars, and conflicts.

This year, the meeting was held under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the host State, the President of the Islamic Summit, during which they discussed developments on issues related to providng humanitarian aid to those affected by natural disasters, providing humanitarian relief for the displaced in member states, continuing cooperation and coordination in the field of humanitarian work, and follow-up developments in the irregular migration program.
