30th Periodic Meeting of Divisions Heads

On Thursday, 24 Jumada II 1443H corresponding to 27 January 2022G, His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the thirtieth periodic meeting of the heads of divisions at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.

His Excellency the Secretary General welcomed the heads of divisions and thanked them for their regular attendance at these important periodic meetings and their constant keenness to exert effort to raise the Academy to the highest levels. He then thanked the Department of Financial and Administrative Affairs for its commendable efforts in preparing the annual financial report and the Academy’s annual budget, which was highly praised by the Organization’s Financial Control Committee. His Excellency also added that the Committee recommended some minor amendments that the Academy should take into consideration in the future in order to achieve full transparency of all its accounts.

His Excellency also congratulated the attendees for the release of the second edition of the Academy’s Book of Resolutions and Recommendations in English, after a long absence of more than twenty years. In this context, His Excellency commended the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among the employees responsible for this important publication and thanked all those who contributed to preparing it so that it could see the light again, headed by the Translation Department and Mr. Jawzi Lardjane. His Excellency also stressed the necessity of distributing the book to the widest possible range within and outside the membership of the Organization in order to spread benefit from it.

Several decisions were taken from the meeting, the most important of which are:

  • Directing the Gifts Committee to distribute the English version of the Book of Resolutions all over the world, no later than the end of February.
  • Directing the Information Technology Department to upload an electronic copy of the Book of Resolutions in English on the Academy’s official website, similar to the Arabic version.
  • Printing copies of the monthly newsletter brochure in the three languages ​​(Arabic, English, and French) for distribution to diplomatic missions speaking these languages, to visitors to the Academy and to participants in seminars and conferences that it organizes.
  • Directing the Information Technology Department to convert the old audio-visual scientific materials of the Academy into modern digital copies that can be easily stored and used.
