His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), met on Thursday, 03 Jumada II 1443H, corresponding to 06 January 2022G, with His Excellency Mr. Isaac Biruma Sibulime, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda, and its Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Ambassador expressed his great pleasure and thanks to His Excellency for his visit to the Embassy, praising the developments and qualitative changes witnessed by the General Secretariat of the Academy, which he noticed during his visit to the Academy months ago. He also expressed his happiness to build a unique educational strategic partnership between the Academy and religious institutions in Uganda, particularly the Office of the Grand Mufti of Uganda, in order to promote a culture of moderation, tolerance, openness and peaceful coexistence among followers of religions. He concluded his speech by expressing the readiness of the Republic of Uganda to provide support to the Academy at all levels in order to enable it to carry out its noble mission and implement its strategic plan.

For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General expressed his great thanks and appreciation to the Ambassador for the good reception and welcome, noting in the meantime the continued support and care the Academy has been receiving from the leadership and people of the Republic of Uganda since its inception. His Excellency also expressed his great appreciation and gratitude to the Ambassador for his recent visit to the General Secretariat of the Academy, stressing the keenness of the Academy to strengthen the relations of partnership, cooperation, communication and coordination between the Academy and Ugandan academic and religious institutions in all fields, especially the field of spreading tolerance and interfaith coexistence.

His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Walid Al-Idrissi, Director of the Department of Media, Public Relations, &IT at the Academy.
