His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), chaired the 85th weekly meeting of the directors of the departments on Monday, 26 Dhu al-Hijjah 1443H corresponding to 25 July 2022G at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and thanked them for participating in the meeting, stressing that this meeting will follow up on the progress of preparations for the twenty-fifth Session of the Academy, which will be held very soon. His Excellency instructed the committee concerned to submit a detailed report on the research of the session that has been received with the names of the participants and their countries. His Excellency also instructed the Seminars and Research departments to work closely together on a daily basis to coordinate, arrange and review the Session’s research papers to ensure that researchers adhere to the set topics, and to inform all those who do not adhere to them.

Then the meeting discussed the items of decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several new decisions were issued, the most important of which are:

• Call for papers from researchers of the Iraqi Fiqh Academy on topics of the Session.
• Calling for an urgent meeting of the Board of Trustees in September to discuss new issues regarding the Academy’s Waqf fund.
• Writing to the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai regarding hosting a symposium on “Wills” and its role in combating poverty and destitution in the present era.
