At the generous invitation from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, was honored to greet His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, during his participation at the fourth session of the Hassaniya Lectures, which was presided over by His Majesty the King on Wednesday 21 Ramadan 1444, corresponding to 12 April 2023, at the Royal Palace in the capital, Rabat.
The lecture was delivered by His Eminence Dr. Abd al-Rahman Ibrahim Zaid al-Kilani, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan, in which he discussed “The Purposes of the Noble Qur’an and Building Inclusive Human Commonalities”, based on the words of Almighty in Surat al-Hujurat: “O people, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.” Al Hujurat : 12.
It is worth noting that His Excellency has been attending Hassaniya Lectures for two decades, and previously delivered a lesson before His Majesty in 2004 entitled “Refuting Terrorism: Renewed Perspectives” based on the Almighty’s saying:
“And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.” Al-Anfal: 60, in which he was previously honored to deliver the lecture to the scholars participating in the Hassaniya Lectures, before His Majesty, the King of Morocco, in 2008.
