The President of the Supreme Council of Muslims in Germany visits the Academy

H.E. Professor Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, received in his office at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah today, Thursday, the 4th of Dhu al-Hijjah for the year 1444 AH corresponding to the 22nd of June 2023 , Dr. Ayman Mazik, President of the Supreme Council of Muslims in Germany, accompanied by Mr. Abdul Samad Al Yazidi, Secretary General of the Council. He welcomed his honorable guest and the dlegation, praising the appreciated and distinguished efforts of the Council in Germany as one of the most prestigious Islamic councils in Europe for Muslim communities, especially in the field of spreading moderation and the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence, comprehensive citizenship, and correcting the incorrect stereotype about Islam and Muslims in Germany in particular and in Europe in general. He also renewed his thanks to Dr. Ayman for the warm welcome he and his delegation received during his recent official visit to Germany, during which he signed a cooperation agreement with the Council. He also delivered a public lecture on citizenship that resonated among Muslims in Germany. In this regard, he noted the Council’s keenness to coordinate, cooperate and communicate with the Council and with all Islamic institutions, councils and centers that are active in the field of promoting a culture of inclusive citizenship and coexistence within the countries of Muslim societies. For his part, the President of the Council expressed his sincere thanks and great appreciation to him for this good opportunity to visit the General Secretariat of the Academy, appreciating the distinguished and long-standing scientific role that the Academy plays in the field of consolidating the approach of moderation and spreading the values ​​of moderation, tolerance and coexistence, and educating Muslim communities on the importance of adhering to the requirements of citizenship with preserving their Islamic identity in their communities, praising the Council’s discreet decisions related to moderation, citizenship, and residency outside the Islamic world. During the meeting, they discussed ways and mechanisms for activating the cooperation agreement signed between the Academy and the Council. The meeting also reviewed a number of issues of concern to Muslims in Europe in general, especially the issue of timings, and the Halal industry in general.
