H.E. the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan visits the Academy

H.E. Professor Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, received H.E. Ambassador Syed Muhammad Fouad Sher, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, and his accompanying delegation, on Monday 23 Dhul Qi’dah 1444 AH corresponding to June 12, 2023 AD at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.
H.E. the Ambassador expressed his sincere thanks to His Excellency for the warm welcome. He also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity that he and his companions had to meet His Excellency in order to strengthen the relations of cooperation, coordination and communication between the Permanent Delegation and the Academy, highly appreciating the efforts of the Academy in presenting the true face of Islam by promoting coexistence between different peoples and cultures. Then he affirmed that his government is following with great interest the course of events in Afghanistan, especially the outcomes and results of the visit of the scholars of the Ummah to Afghanistan on the issues of male and female education, and the participation of women in the efforts of construction in Afghanistan, expressing once again his country’s full readiness to provide full support to the Academy in all axes. For his part, he thanked H.E. the Ambassador and his delegation for this visit, and for his Excellency’s keenness to strengthen and deepen relations of cooperation, coordination, partnership and communication between the Academy and the scientific, intellectual and religious institutions and centers in the Republic of Pakistan. He also expressed his sincere thanks and great gratitude to the government of Pakistan for its continuous support for the Academy and its various activities, praising the prestigious position that the Academy enjoys from the various Pakistani authorities and institutions, especially the permanent delegation to the organization, and he singled out and praised the stronger cooperation between His Excellency and the former permanent representative, H.E. Ambassador Radwan, looking forward to deepening the same cooperation and coordination with His Excellency. On the other hand, he briefed His Excellency on the latest preparations of the General Secretariat of the Academy to lead the delegation of scholars of the nation for the second visit to Afghanistan, in implementation of the decision of the Ministerial Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was taken in Islamabad a year ago, noting on this occasion the pivotal role that is entrusted to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in order to resolve the Afghan issue in general and the immediate issues related to the education of girls and women, and the participation of women in the efforts of construction, renaissance and progress in Afghanistan in particular. His Excellency particularly praised the active participation of the delegation of Pakistani scholars in the first visit of the scholars to Kabul last year, and promised His Excellency to raise the names of the scholars who will represent Pakistan in the next visit of the delegation during the month of July, God willing.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Al-Mundhir Al-Shawk, Director of Cabinet and Protocol Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Al-Idrisi, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department, and Dr. Hajj Manta Drammeh, Head of the International Cooperation and External Relations Department at the Academy.
