The 103rd weekly meeting of the departments

H.E. Prof. Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the 103rd weekly meeting of the departments on Wednesday, 17 of Dhul-Hijjah for the year 1444 AH, corresponding to 05 of July, 2023 AD, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Academy in Jeddah.
He welcomed the attendees and congratulated them on the blessed Eid Al-Adha, praying to God to accept the Hajj of those who perform Hajj and all Muslim pilgrims. Then he spoke about the Eid sermon that he delivered at the International Islamic University in Malaysia, and it was entitled An Analytical Look at Obedience to Parents in Light of the Verse of As-Saffat, which dealt with the story of the Prophet Ismail, peace be upon him, with his father, the Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, explaining that this story establishes the highest model of obedience to parents that the contemporary generation should inspire from it, as the Prophet Ismail set the most wonderful example of obedience when he said to his father: “ O father, do as you are commanded, you will find me, God willing, among the patient”. This was in response to his father decision to execute Allah’s command to as the Holy Qur’an said: “When he reached the age of striving, he said, O my son, I see in a dream that I am slaying you, so see what you see.” Surah As-Saffat 103.
Then he talked about the principles to be observed in dealing with parents in the light of six principles mentioned in Surat Al-Israa, which he deduced from the verse in the Almighty’s saying:  And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and treat parents with kindness, whether they reach with you. One or both of them are arrogant, so do not say to them a “f” and do not rebuke them, but say to them A generous word, explaining that this noble verse included stipulating six principles that represent the foundations that should be adhered to when dealing with parents, namely: being kind to them, avoiding insulting them, avoiding their anger and rebuke, adhering to the noble saying, avoiding arrogance towards them, and the necessity of praying for them. .
Then, His Excellency talked about the importance of preparing an introductory booklet about the Academy’s Waqf Fund and attaching the documents required for the waqf in order to address to the Islamic Development Bank and the concerned authorities for the purpose of contributing to the purchase of a residential building in Makkah Al-Mukarramah for the benefit of the Waqf Fund so that it can carry out its mission in the best way, and to provide a stable and regular resource that can be The complex is able to implement its activities, programs and initiatives contained in its strategic plan. Then the meeting discussed the items of the decisions issued by the previous meeting, and several decisions were issued, the most important of which are:
• Preparing an introductory booklet about the Waqf Fund for charitable organizations and those interested in supporting the Fund for the purpose of contributing to the purchase of a residential building in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
• Searching for a tenant for the Waqf apartment in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. For his part, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
