H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, chaired the 110th weekly meeting of departments’ directors on Tuesday, 25 Rabi’ al-Awal 1445, corresponding to 10 October 2023, at the headquarters the Academy in Jeddah.

His Excellency welcomed the attendees, then spoke about his visit and the delegation accompanying him to King Saud University in Riyadh. His Excellency expressed his thanks, appreciations to the President of the University for the reception and welcome and of his happiness and delight at the development and renaissance at the University where he graduated thirty years ago, which has expanded, especially in its programs related to caring for people with special needs, empowering women and promoting them to participate in the efforts of advancing the University and actively participate in its development, asking Allah the Almighty to preserve it and all the scientific institutions in the headquarters country. His Excellency also spoke about his meeting with the President of the Academy, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid, at his home in Riyadh, and updated him of the latest activities of the Academy.

The meeting discussed the decisions of the previous meeting, and new decisions were issued, namely:

• Sending a letter of thanks to King Saud University’s President, and a draft proposal of an MoC between the Academy and the University.
• Preparing a plan to publish a number of simplified encyclopedias and dictionaries that serve all Muslims.
• Sending a periodic report every three months on the Academy’s activities to the President of the Academy.
