H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the 18th joint meeting of the Academy’s departments and divisions on Tuesday 14 Shawal 1445, corresponding to 23 April 2024, via videoconferencing from Riyadh.

His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees, thanking all of them for their attendance, and calling on everyone to work to accomplish the tasks entrusted to them, especially those related to the organization of the 26th session of the Academy. His Excellency spoke about his participation in the 23rd session of the Islamic Fiqh Council of the Muslim World League, which lasted for three days, was chaired by the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and included senior scholars from the Ummah. His Excellency delivered a speech praising the efforts of the Islamic Fiqh Council of the Muslim World League, while making some similar references to the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.

The meeting reviewed previous decisions and new decisions were taken, notably:

• Reviewing the research papers and ensuring they complied with IIFA’s standards and criteria.
• Creating a folder for each researcher containing the letter of reservation, the updated passport photo, and the rest of information.
• Including MWL’s Makkah Document, Declaration for Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Law, and the Women in Islam Declaration issued by the OIC within the IIFA session’s agenda in Qatar.
