His Eminence Dr. Muhammad Al-Bachari

Born in 1967 in Oujda, Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Dr. Muhammad al-Bachari received his basic education in Morocco and obtained a doctorate in computer science from the University of Paris. His Eminence has served in several positions, as Secretary General of the World Council of Muslim Communities in UAE since its foundation, Dean of the Ibn Sina Institute for Human Sciences in Lille, France, Secretary General of the European Islamic Conference, President of the General Federation of Muslims in France, Vice-President of the French Council of the Muslim Faith, Vice-President of the Awqaf Foundation for Islamic Actions in France, Vice-President of the Association of Islamic Universities in Egypt. His Eminence has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Supreme Council of the Secretariat General for World’s Ifta Councils and Bodies (Egypt), the Advisory Board of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Dialogue between Followers of Religions and cultures (Austria), the European Council of Religious Leaders (Norway), the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the Supreme Council for Islamic Culture in the West (ISESCO, Morocco), the Global Dialogue Forum (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia). His Eminence has also been contributor to the Emirati newspaper Al Ittihad and served as a former advisor on Islamic issues and European- Arab relations in the European Parliament, as well as a former advisor on European-Arab relations in the Arab League Parliament. His Eminence is the recipient of several awards such as Jordan’s King Abdullah II Medal for Excellence and Egypt’s Medal for Sciences and Arts. His Eminence authored several research and works, including Islam, Western Media and the Challenges of Post-9/11 (2004 – Dar al-Fikr), The Islamic world and the Challenges of 9/11 – Reality and Aspirations (2006 – Dar al-Fikr), and The Question of Tolerance: An Introduction to a Civilized Human Pattern – 2020. As a member of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al-Bashari has represented the Islamic community in France, and has participated as a researcher, commentator, and speaker in its various sessions and seminars.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. His Excellency and his accompanying delegation were received by His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Salah Sobhi Hameed, Consul General and Permanent Representative of Jordan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, who welcomed him warmly and expressed his pleasure at the visit. He praised the distinguished intellectual efforts undertaken by the Academy under His Excellency’s leadership in addressing numerous religious and intellectual issues of concern to the Islamic world, affirming his personal honor in meeting His Excellency again and Jordan’s keenness to strengthen channels of communication and cooperation with the Academy, especially in areas of mutual interest. For his part, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and great appreciation to the Ambassador for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
