Born in 1968 in Sudan, H.E. Dr. Abd al-Rahim Adam Suleiman obtained his bachelor’s in 1993 in Sharia law from Omdurman Islamic University in Sudan, a master’s degree in 1997 from the same university, and a doctorate in 2009 in the principles of jurisprudence, respectively. His Eminence served in several positions, as President of the Sudanese Islamic Fiqh Academy, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Khartoum, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and at the Faculty of Islamic Studies at the University of Rabat, a lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Khartoum, Head of the Department of Fundamentals of Jurisprudence, at the University of Rabat. His Eminence also worked as a lawyer in the Sudanese courts, and is member of Sudan’s Supreme Hajj Council, a member of the subcommittees for peace negotiations, of the preliminary workshop to discuss the state-religion relation, a member of the Supreme Awqaf Council, and a member of the preparatory committee for the first insurance conference. His Eminence participated in several international and local conferences, and published several research papers, such as the application of Sharia rulings on non-Muslims in Sudan, Sharia ruling according to Usuli Jurists, Inheritance and Sharia in light of CEDAW, Customary Marriage and its Ruling, among others. As a member of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, H.E. Dr. Abdul Rahim Adam Suleiman has represented the Republic of Sudan since December 24, 2020.
