H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, received a high-level delegation from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, headed by H.E. Dr. Khalid Hussain, Advisor to the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Bangladesh, on Monday, 30 Rabi Al-Awal 1446, corresponding to 07 October, 2024, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.
His Excellency welcomed the delegation, thanking them for their visit, and expressing the Academy’s thanks and appreciation to the Republic of Bangladesh for its support to the Academy since its inception to the present day. He then gave a brief introduction to the Academy’s vision, mission and objectives and expressed the Academy’s full readiness to strengthen cooperation, partnership and coordination with the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Bangladesh in all issues and matters that concern the Ummah, by signing a memorandum of cooperation between the Academy and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Khalid Hussain thanked the Secretary General for the warm welcome and expressed his content for visiting this prestigious scientific institution, considered the leading fiqh reference for the Muslim world, appreciating the distinguished role and tremendous efforts of the Academy in serving Islam and Muslims, especially in terms of elucidating the Sharia rulings on issues and developments that concern Muslims worldwide, adding: “We are pleased to meet your excellency and look forward to enhancing cooperation between the Academy and scientific institutions in Bangladesh to promote the real image of Islam.”
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed Mondher Chouk, Director of Cabinet, Protocol and Legal Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Walid Al-Idrissi, Director of Media and Public Relations, and Dr. Alhagi Manta Drammeh, Head of International Cooperation and External Relations.
