Dr. Mohamed El-Amin Silla, Head of the Research and Studies Division, represented the International Islamic Fiqh Academy in the 13th meeting of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, on 20-25 Rabi Al-Akhir 1446, corresponding to 23-28 September 2024.

Several experts from different Muslim countries participated in the committee meetings, which discussed many topics including halal products, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, petroleum and tourism. It is worth mentioning that the well-established cooperation between the Institute and the Academy in the field of halal products, including food, medicine, and clothing, has yielded remarkable results that have had a profound impact on this vital sector.
