The Secretary General of the Academy, H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, chaired the 132nd weekly meeting of IIFA’s departments, on Tuesday 26 Rabi Al-Akhir 1446, corresponding to 29 October 2024, at IIFA’s headquarters in Jeddah.
His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, then spoke about his participation in the international conference entitled: “Faith in a Changing World”, organized by Muhammadiyah League of Scholars in cooperation with the Muslim World League under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, and issuance of the Rabat Document, which represents an important statement by international religious and intellectual elites and symbols about faith confronting atheism and promoting concerted efforts to counter nihilistic thoughts. He also spoke about his visit to H.E. Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
The meeting reviewed previous decisions and issued new ones, notably:
- Sending letters of thanks to the Secretaries General of the Muslim World League, Muhammadiyah League of Scholars, and the Director General of ICESCO praising the hospitality and success of the conference
- Finalizing the draft recommendations of the Cultured Meat Symposium according to the themes identified by the Secretariat General and based on the summaries and findings of the research papers.
- Strengthening the OIC Statement on Women in Islam by holding a workshop or a scientific symposium regarding its premises.
