President of Academy chairs Joint Boards Meeting of IIFA Waqf Fund

H.E. Dr. Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, President of the Academy and Chairman of the Board of Governors, chaired the joint meeting of the Board of Trustees and Supervisory of the Waqf Fund of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy online on Monday, 25 Sha’aban 1446, corresponding to 24 February 2025.

The President of the Academy opened the meeting by greeting the members of the IIFA Waqf Fund’s Board of Trustees and the Supervisory Board and thanked them for attending the meeting. His Excellency expressed his sincere thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, may Allah protect them, for their continuous support to the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.

The meeting discussed the agenda presented by H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy and Secretary of the Board of Trustees, which included several items, namely approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, presentation of a report on the cooperation with the Saudi General Authority for Awqaf, presentation of a report on the cooperation agreement with Tasbil, a proposal to visit a number of Gulf countries during the month of Ramadan, a proposal to nominate Prof. Ajil Al-Nashmi as member the Board of Trustees. The Secretary General also presented a detailed report on his visit to the headquarters of the General Authority for Awqad in Riyadh last November, in which he emphasized the Authority’s willingness to support the Academy through its Waqf Fund, by concluding a cooperation agreement between both parties. His Excellency also presented the Board members with some preliminary proposals to address the difficulties he mentioned.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Mutlaq, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Shathri, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Haddad, H.E. Dr. Abdullah Mabrouk Al-Najjar, H.E. Dr. Omar Zuhair Hafez and H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah representing the Islamic Development Bank.
