Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Ahmad Shoaib, Director of the Department of Research, Studies, Encyclopedias, Translation and Printing, represented the International Islamic Fiqh Academy at the virtual interactive seminar entitled “Breaths of Faith”, organized by the OIC Secretariat General on Thursday 20 Ramadan 1446, corresponding to 20 March 2025.
Dr. Shoaib addressed the topics of fasting, its truth, virtue and some of its rulings, the merits of reciting the Holy Quran and the importance of increasing it, especially during Ramadan, the virtues of Laylatul Qade (Night of Destiny), the virtue of the last ten days of the month of Ramadan, the importance of almsgiving and breaking the fast, the importance of Zakat and almsgiving, compassion for weak and poor Muslims, and other things Muslims must or should do during this blessed month.
Dr. Rami Muhammad Anshasi, Head of Cultural Seminars at the OIC Secretariat General, also took part in the seminar and addressed the issue of jihad and conquest during Ramadan, which is also month of reform and effort rather than laziness and inactivity. He also stressed the need to care for orphans and raise awareness of their problems, in line with the ministerial resolution issued by the 40th OIC session held in Conakry, Guinea, in December 2013, which called on the Muslim world to celebrate the Day of the Muslim Orphan on the 15th Ramadan every year.
