IIFA mourns Former Malaysian PM H.E. Mr. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi

The International Islamic Fiqh Academy conveys its condolences for the pssing of the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, may his soul rest in peace. On behalf of H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, accompanied by a delegation from the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Dr. Abdulfattah Mahmoud Abnaouf, Acting Secretary General, on Wednesday, 18 Shawal 1446, corresponding to 16 April 2025, presented the condolences of the Academy to the Consulate General of the State of Malaysia in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the passing of His Excellency Honourbale Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, who passed away on 14 April 2025, may Allah bless his soul.

The delegation registered its condolences in the register dedicated to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, H.E. Mr. Anwar Ibrahim, may Allah protect him, and the honorable people of Malaysia and the family of the deceased, asking Allah to have mercy on the deceased, pardon him, forgive him, and place him with those whom Allah grants with blessings, among the prophets, the righteous, the martyrs, the believers, the righteous, and those who are good companions.

It is worth mentioning that during his tenure as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the former Prime Minister hosted the 18th session of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy session in Putrajaya in 2007.

Secretary‑General of the Academy Visits the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Excellency Professor Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, paid an official visit on 29 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 17 February 2026, to the Consulate General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Jeddah. He commended the tremendous support, gracious care, and continuous attention the Academy has received from the leadership and people of Jordan since its establishment. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Ambassador’s recent visit to the Academy, affirming the Academy’s full readiness to do everything that would enhance partnership, cooperation, coordination, and communication between the Academy and Jordanian religious and academic institutions. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Al‑Mundhir Rida Al‑Shawk, Director of the Office and Protocol; Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al‑Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Ms. Sarah Amjad Badawi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly; and Mr. Amjad Ibrahim Al‑Mansi, Head of the Protocol Section.
