Doha, capital of Qatar, was selected to host the 26th session of the Council of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, a subsidiary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. This event is scheduled to take place between 6 and 10 Dhul Qui’da 1446, which corresponds to 4-8 May 2025, under the patronage of the State of Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
The 26th session is part of the Academy’s efforts and initiatives to foster collective Ijtihad and discuss contemporary jurisprudential issues of concern to Muslim countries and communities. This event brings together scholars, jurists, and experts from around the world to debate and conclude rulings and commendations on selected contemporary issues, covering economic, medical, and religious areas, and issuing Sharia-based resolutions and recommendations that aim to deliver appropriate solutions to current challenges.
The International Islamic Fiqh Academy is a reputable and reliable scientific institution serving as a primary reference for collective Ijtihad, with members from the 57 member states of the OIC. Its members and representatives convene annually to examine and debate contemporary issues and developments, offering Sharia-based solutions to contemporary life problems through a collaborative scientific approach.
