The International Islamic Fiqh Academy (OIC) concluded its 26th Session today, 8th Shawal, 2025, in Doha, Qatar’s capital. Several key documents were adopted to support joint Islamic efforts in the fields of jurisprudence and thought.

The final Session of the conference exhibited several documents issued by the Muslim World League, presented by H.E. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Zaid, Deputy Secretary General of the MWL’s Islamic Fiqh Council, including the “Makkah Document”, considered an intellectual reference for promoting the values of coexistence and tolerance among the Ummah, and the “Declaration on Building Bridges between Islamic Sects and Schools of Thought”, which affirms the importance of unity and respect for doctrinal diversity within universal principles.

Additionally, Mrs. Sara bint Amjad bin Hussein Bedewi, Director of Family, Women, Children and Elderly Affairs at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, presented the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Declaration on Women, which was prepared in cooperation with several of OIC’s affiliated institutions, including the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, the Women’s Development Organization, ISESCO and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission. The declaration aims to consolidate the status of Muslim women and guarantee their rights through the provisions of Islamic law by the current circumstances and challenges.

The conference participants expressed their support for these documents and declarations, affirming their consistency with the mission of the Academy’s Council to promote peace and integration. They called for their adoption as reliable references in Sharia policies related to social and jurisprudential issues.
