Convening of the 143rd Weekly Meeting of the Departments:

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, chaired the 143rd weekly meeting of the departments, held on Thursday, 29 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to July 24, 2025, at the headquarters of the Academy’s General Secretariat in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

His Excellency opened the meeting by praising Allah Almighty and sending blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, welcoming the attendees, and initiating the session by referring to the ongoing preparations for the convening of the 27th session of the Academy. He explained that a delegation from Malaysia will soon visit the Academy to discuss organizational arrangements related to the session. He also touched upon his recent visit to the United Kingdom, during which he delivered a speech at the British Parliament addressing the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, calling for practical steps to stop the aggression and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

Following that, the meeting discussed the items of the decisions issued in the previous meeting, and several new decisions were issued, most notably:

  • Digitization of paper libraries:
    Assigning the Director of the Fatwas and Libraries Department to coordinate with university technicians to convert the Academy’s Library into an electronic version within a maximum period of one month.
  • Preparation of a letter of thanks to Their Excellencies the British Ministers and Her Excellency the Consul General of the United Kingdom in Jeddah for the warm reception of the Academy’s delegation.
  • Assigning translation tasks to Mr. Al-Muizz Abdulrazzaq Al-Riyahi for French and to Dr. Alhagi Manta Drammeh for English.
  • Disposal of papers and files older than ten years, with the exception of appointment documents which are to be archived, and copies handed over to the Conferences and Seminars Department.
  • Completion of transcription of all interventions, comments, and discussions related to the 26th session by the end of August 2025.
  • Assigning the Head of the Conferences and Seminars Department to update all contents of the Academy’s website and submit weekly progress reports.
  • Distribution of books stored in the Academy’s warehouses to a number of Islamic universities, such as: Kuwait University, Qatar University, Oman University, the Islamic Sciences University in Jordan, and other educational institutions.
