Dean of Arab Consuls Bids Farewell to the Secretary-General

His Excellency Prof. Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, received in his office in Jeddah on Wednesday, 14 Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to November 5, 2025, His Excellency Ambassador Mr Mahmoud Yahya Al-Asadi, Dean of Arab Consuls and Consul General of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ambassador visited to bid farewell to His Excellency at the conclusion of his official tenure as Consul General of his country in the Kingdom.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency expressed his deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to Prof. Dr Sano for the warm welcome and generous reception. He noted that this visit would be his final one to the Academy’s General Secretariat, as his official duties in the Kingdom were coming to an end. He conveyed his thanks for the fruitful cooperation he experienced throughout his tenure. He praised the Academy’s distinguished role and extraordinary efforts under Prof. Dr Sano’s leadership in serving Islam and Muslims—especially in supporting the Palestinian cause, defending Islamic holy sites, and protecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He affirmed Palestine’s commitment to continued communication and cooperation with the Academy, particularly in areas of shared interest.
In turn, Prof. Dr Sano welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for the visit, which reflected his strong commitment to strengthening ties between the Academy’s General Secretariat and the scientific and religious institutions of Palestine. On this occasion, Prof. Dr Sano expressed his regret at the Ambassador’s departure, offering heartfelt thanks, deep appreciation, and immense gratitude for his valued efforts in enhancing cooperation between the Academy and Palestine’s esteemed institutions. He especially commended the Ambassador’s sincere dedication to supporting the Academy during his tenure as Consul General.
The Ambassador concluded his visit by recording his sentiments in the guestbook, writing:
“With all thanks and appreciation, I extend my gratitude to His Excellency Prof. Dr KoutoubSano for all he has offered to Palestine in terms of support and assistance. As I prepare to depart, I pray that God grants him success in achieving his goals and the goals of the Academy in uniting the Muslims.”
The meeting was also attended by Mr Muhammad Al-Idrisi, Director of Media and Public Relations; Dr Alhagi Manta Drammeh, Head of International Cooperation and External Relations; and Mr Amjad Ibrahim Mustafa Al-Mansi, Head of Protocol at the Academy.
