Academy Participates in the Coordination Meeting

His Eminences Mr Muhammad Al‑Munzir Ridha Al‑Shawk, Director of Office Affairs and Protocol, and Dr Muhammad Al‑Amin Sylla, Head of the Research and Studies Department, represented the General Secretariat of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy in the proceedings of the Ninth Annual Coordination Meeting of the Institutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting was held at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah on 19–20 Jumada al‑Akhirah 1447 AH, corresponding to 10–11 December 2025.
The Academy’s delegation participated in the sessions of the committee concerned with cultural, sports, family, media, and human rights, during which the Academy’s activities carried out within the framework of the OIC Ten‑Year Program were reviewed. These activities included several initiatives and programs implemented in coordination with various OIC bodies.
The delegation also contributed to discussions on proposed new activities for 2026, most notably:
• The Academy’s participation in the celebration marking 1500 years since the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),
• Organising a workshop on social safety networks for the elderly and persons with disabilities, as part of joint programs aimed at addressing the issues of the Muslim Ummah.
The meeting concluded with a closing session held on Thursday, 11 December 2025, attended by His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, who praised the efforts of the OIC institutions and the level of coordination and integration among them. He emphasised the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation and unify efforts to achieve the organisation’s goals and the aspirations of its member states.
