
His Excellency Prof. Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), presided over the graduation ceremony of the 41st cohort of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), held in a grand and dignified ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, 16 Jumada Al-Akhira 1447 corresponding to 7 December 2025.
The ceremony was attended by senior Malaysian officials, university leadership, a distinguished group of academic and diplomatic figures, as well as a large gathering of parents and families who shared in the joy of celebrating their sons’ and daughters’ academic achievement.
In his address on this occasion, His Excellency expressed his deep pride in participating in this distinguished academic event and praised the pioneering role of the International Islamic University Malaysia in preparing highly qualified intellectual and academic leaders, promoting the values of moderation and balance, and strengthening civilizational dialogue and intellectual openness.
He congratulated the graduates on this outstanding achievement and encouraged them to continue their journey of excellence and dedication, and to employ the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the service of their countries, their Ummah, and humanity at large, while upholding the highest standards of responsibility and academic integrity.
This ceremony once again affirmed IIUM’s status as one of the leading academic institutions in the Muslim world and a beacon of knowledge that harmoniously combines authenticity and modernity, contributing to the development of future intellectual and academic leadership.
The ceremony concluded in an atmosphere of pride and celebration, with graduates receiving their degrees amid warm applause and heartfelt prayers for their continued success and prosperity.
