His Excellency Prof. Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, presided over the one‑hundred‑and‑fifty‑third weekly meeting of the departments on Wednesday, 21 Ramadan 1447 AH, corresponding to 11 March 2026, at the Academy’s General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.
At the outset, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and emphasised the importance of these regular meetings in accomplishing administrative and scholarly tasks and ensuring their proper follow‑up, contributing to the continued success of the Academy’s work and the development of its institutional performance. The meeting addressed several topics related to workflow within the Academy, including His Excellency’s remarks on postponing the symposium titled “The Role of Religious Leaders in Combating Violence Against Women”. The meeting stressed the need to continue completing all preparations so that it may be held as soon as suitable conditions allow, God willing. The meeting also reviewed the ongoing preparations for holding the Academy’s twenty‑seventh session in Malaysia and the progress of scientific reviews of the research papers submitted for it.
The meeting concluded with several decisions, notably:
• Continuing follow‑up with several bookstores, including Jarir Bookstore, regarding the methods used to sell the Academy’s books online.
• Communicating with the printing press to explore the possibility of typesetting and printing selected issues of the Academy’s journal, and requesting a price quotation for this purpose.
• Printing a new hard‑copy version of the updated strategic plan, incorporating the comments received from Academy staff, and distributing it to departments and sections for review before discussing it in the next meeting.
