His Excellency Professor Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, received a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday, 2 Ramadan 1447 AH, corresponding to 19 February 2026, at the headquarters of the Academy’s General Secretariat in Jeddah. The delegation included several members of the Chamber’s Executive Office, the Secretary-General of the institution, and a number of Ivorian business leaders and economic actors, in the presence of the Deputy Consul of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Jeddah.

His Excellency welcomed the delegation members, expressing his pleasure at their visit and appreciating the Ivorian Chamber’s participation in activities related to the Islamic economy and the halal industry. He affirmed the Academy’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Chamber in areas of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the issues of the Muslim Ummah and supports joint scholarly and institutional efforts.

His Excellency also provided the delegation with an overview of the Academy as a global scholarly body under the umbrella of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and as the highest jurisprudential reference for member states and Muslim communities. The meeting further discussed several topics of shared interest, foremost among them the development of the halal industry and the enhancement of waqf (endowment) systems across the African continent, in general, and in Côte d’Ivoire, in particular, in ways that contribute to sustainable economic development and support business communities.

For their part, the delegation expressed their deep appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, praising the depth and clarity of the discussions. They emphasised the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation with the Academy in fields related to the Islamic economy and the halal industry. The delegation also extended an official invitation to His Excellency to visit the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, opening new horizons for fruitful cooperation between the two sides.
