
H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General, visited the Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Monday, 28 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 13 July 2026, to convey the Academy’s sincere condolences and sympathy to the Government and people of the State of Qatar on the passing of the late H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away on Sunday, 27 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 12 July 2026.

During the visit, H.E. the Secretary General signed the book of condolences, stating:
“With hearts that firmly believe in Allah’s Divine Decree and souls that submit to His Will, we extend, on behalf of the scholars and thinkers of the Muslim Ummah, represented by the members and experts of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and to the people of the State of Qatar on the passing of our beloved father, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir. May Allah have mercy upon him, forgive him, pardon him, and admit him among the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. His memory will forever remain alive in the minds of the scholars of the Muslim Ummah in recognition of his distinguished services to the Ummah and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.”
H.E. the Secretary General was accompanied during the condolence visit by Mr. Mohammed Al-Mundhir Reda Al-Shawk, Director of the Diwan and Protocol Department, and Mr. Mohammed Waleed Al-Idrisi, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department.
