Upon a gracious invitation from the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) participated n the Preparatory Meeting for the OIC Youth Training Program on “Cultural Diplomacy and Leadership”, represented by Dr. Alhagi Manta Drammeh, Director of the Department of Planning, Development and International Cooperation, in the virtual coordination meeting held in preparation for the OIC training program entitled “Youth, Cultural Diplomacy and Leadership Skills Development.”
The meeting was organized by the OIC General Secretariat in cooperation with the Ministry of Sport of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Thursday, 29 Safar 1448 AH, corresponding to 13 August 2026, as part of the preparations for the training program scheduled to take place on Thursday, 20 Rabiʿ al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to 3 September 2026, at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters, both in person and virtually, in celebration of the OIC Youth Day.
The meeting was convened to strengthen coordination among the relevant institutions and finalize the necessary preparations for the implementation of the program. Participants reviewed the proposed program agenda, as well as the organizational and logistical arrangements related to its implementation. OIC institutions were also encouraged to participate actively in the program, in recognition of its importance in empowering young people, developing their leadership capacities, and enhancing their role in the fields of dialogue, cultural communication, and diplomacy.
In his intervention, Dr. Drammeh expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the OIC General Secretariat for organizing the meeting, emphasizing the significance of convening it at this important time. He highlighted the program’s role in empowering youth, developing their leadership skills, and strengthening their engagement in dialogue, cultural communication, and diplomacy.
He also affirmed the Academy’s readiness to participate in the program and contribute to enriching its discussions by highlighting Islamic perspectives on cultural diplomacy and leadership, as well as engaging in related deliberations.
The organization of this program comes within the framework of the celebration of OIC Youth Day and forms part of ongoing efforts aimed at developing youth capacities, nurturing future leaders, and promoting dialogue, cultural exchange, and collaborative learning among young people from OIC Member States.
