The Secretary General of the OIC warmly welcomed H.E. the Secretary General of the Academy and his delegation, expressing his appreciation for their visit. He commended the Academy’s scholarly and intellectual role as one of the Organization’s leading institutions and praised its efforts in elucidating Islamic legal rulings on emerging issues and contemporary developments affecting Muslims around the world.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Academy expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and his delegation. He conveyed, on behalf of the Academy’s Presidency, General Secretariat, members, experts, and staff, his sincere congratulations and best wishes to H.E. the Secretary General on the occasion of assuming his duties as the new Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He prayed that Almighty Allah guide and support him in fulfilling his responsibilities and enable him to realise the aspirations of the Majesties, Highnesses, and Excellencies, the leaders of the Organization’s Member States.

H.E. the Secretary General of the Academy also expressed the Academy’s aspiration for enhanced support, cooperation, and coordination with the OIC General Secretariat, enabling it to achieve its vision, fulfil its mission, and accomplish its objectives through the organization of activities, programmes, and projects that promote intellectual convergence and knowledge integration among scholars of the various Islamic schools of jurisprudence on the one hand, and among Muslim scholars and experts in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities on the other. The ultimate aim is to provide effective solutions and sound answers to the challenges of contemporary life and the issues confronting Muslims across the globe.

He further explained that these activities, programmes, and projects seek to strengthen collaboration among the Ummah’s scholars and experts, promote the values of moderation and balance, foster a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among societies and peoples, and correct misconceptions and stereotypical perceptions regarding Islam and its teachings.

During the meeting, H.E. the Secretary General of the Academy presented an overview of the Academy, its mission, and its most significant activities, programmes, and projects. He reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to strengthening cooperation, communication, and institutional integration with the OIC General Secretariat and its organs and institutions, thereby contributing to the coordination of efforts and the implementation of joint initiatives and programmes in the service of Islam and Muslims.

Accompanying H.E. the Secretary General of the Academy were Mr. Mohammed Al-Mundhir Reda Al-Shawk, Director of the cabinet and Protocol Department; Mr. Khalid Hamid Al-Ahmadi, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs; and Ms. Sarah Amjad Badiwi, Director of the Department of Family, Women, Children, and Elderly Affairs.
