The delegation was headed by Ms Humaira Mukhtarzada, Head of the Political and Economic Section, accompanied by Mr Gregory David and Mr Elsyaed. Romia.

At the outset of the meeting, the Secretary General welcomed the head of the delegation and her accompanying colleagues, expressing his appreciation for the visit. He then provided an overview of the Academy, describing it as one of the most important subsidiary organs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the highest Islamic juristic reference for the OIC Member States and Muslim communities. He explained that the Academy is entrusted with clarifying Islamic rulings on contemporary issues and emerging challenges of concern to Muslims around the world, while promoting the true image of Islam based on the values of moderation, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

For her part, Ms Humaira Mukhtarzada expressed her gratitude to the Secretary General for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality. She commended the efforts and scholarly programs undertaken by the Academy, particularly in the areas of interfaith dialogue, women’s empowerment, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.

At the conclusion of the visit, Ms. Mukhtarzada recorded her remarks in the Academy’s guestbook, stating:

“It is a great honor for me to extend my sincere appreciation to Dr. Sano and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy for your blessed efforts in promoting peace and tolerance. We pray that Almighty Allah continues to guide you and bless your endeavors.”

The meeting was attended by Mr Mohammed Al-Mundhir Reda Al-Shawk, Director of the Office of the Secretary General and Protocol; Ms Sarah Amjad Badewi, Supervisor of the Office of the Secretary General; and Dr Alhagi Manta Drammeh, Director of the Department of Planning and International Cooperation.
