His Excellency Professor Dr Koutob Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the Academy’s Seventieth Monthly Staff Meeting, held on Sunday, 20 Rabi‘ al-Thani 1448 AH (4 October 2026), at the Academy’s General Secretariat Headquarters in Jeddah.
His Excellency welcomed attendees and thanked the Fatwa and Review Department for transcribing the symposium’s scholarly material, entitled “The Role of Religious Leaders in Combating Violence Against Women.” He also thanked the Research and Studies Department for drafting the symposium’s proposed recommendations.
His Excellency then spoke about preparations and arrangements for convening the Twenty-Seventh Session of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy Council and listened to staff views and suggestions on ways to enhance performance and ensure the session was conducted and organised successfully.
The meeting also discussed a number of matters and adopted several decisions, the most important of which were:
- Designing identification badges for the participants in the session, including the necessary information and data.
- Submitting a report to the General Secretariat concerning the printing of the delayed issues of the Academy Journal and obtaining quotations from publishing houses concerned with printing.
- Compiling abstracts of the research papers on the session’s topics in preparation for their translation and distribution to participants during the session.
- Printing the session’s agenda after its final approval by the host authority in Malaysia.
