4th Weekly Meeting of Departments Directors

Under the chairmanship of H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, the 4th weekly meeting of the departments of the Academy took place on Monday 16 Rabi al-Awal 1442 corresponding to November 2, 2020.

His Excellency spoke about the importance of adhering to the values of transparency and clarity, productivity and administrative discipline, creativity and innovation, cooperation and integration between departments. His Excellency said that the Academy is about to issue a statement on recent events, especially the crisis that occurred between the Muslim world and some French newspapers, as well as the terrorist attacks that some extremist groups have wrongly committed in the name of Islam. His Excellency indicated that the statements of the Academy on various issues and recent events should be based on a distinct scientific basis, including solutions and means to prevent similar incident from occurring in the future. The meeting reached a number of decisions, the most important are the following:

-Recommend the elaboration of an encyclopedia bearing the name of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and entitled: “King Salman Encyclopedia of Juridical and Economic Terms”.

-Recommend the elaboration of the first comprehensive scientific encyclopedia on the family to be named after a contemporary woman who played a leading role in contributing to the emancipation of Muslim women – inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

-Corresponding with the members and experts of the Academy, the High Commissioner for Refugees, the Commission on Human Rights and the OIC Assistant Secretaries General to submit theme proposals for the 25th Session of the Academy.

-Communicate with the King Salman Center for Moderation in order to strengthen cooperation with the Center in the areas of research and studies related to the fight against terrorism and extremism, and the rejection of intolerance.

-Starting to hold conferences at the Islamic Thought Forum, inviting researchers and academics to deliver lectures on contemporary issues of concern to the whole world.
