His Excellency Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), presided over the forty second weekly meeting of the directors of the Academy’s departments on Monday, 22 Muharram 1443H, corresponding to August 30, 2021G, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
His Excellency began the meeting by welcoming the attendees and thanking everyone for attending, he then spoke about the visit paid by His Excellency Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the Secretary General elect of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to the Academy this morning as part of the program of visits he is making to the subsidiary organs of the organization. His Excellency expressed his happiness with this visit, which aims to introduce the Academy in detail through its vision, mission, objectives, and the five-year strategic plan that was prepared this year, and to learn about its activities and programs.
The meeting discussed a number of issues and took several decisions, the most important of which are:
- Collecting and selecting some outstanding research papers on specific topics, then editing them and giving them one title to be printed in the form of a book as part of the Academy’s publications.
- Sending a number of the Academy’s publications to international Islamic universities in some member states (Niger, Bangladesh, Uganda, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Indonesia).
- Starting to organize a series of lectures within the Academy’s Forum platform dealing with current issues.
- Preparing a full concept of the Academy’s desire to reprint Zayed’s encyclopedia in a revised edition.
