Statement on the Explosive Attacks in Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds, may the blessings and peace be upon our master Muḥammad, the last of prophets, on his family, and all his companions.

The Secretariat General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of the Islamic Conference expresses its deep displeasure and condemnation of the criminal act that targeted innocent people in three hotels in Amman, capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, killing and injuring dozens of people.

On behalf of scholars and jurists, the Secretariat General recalls everyone, with desolation, deep sadness, and shock by this news, that the perpetrators of these crimes have deprived themselves of all human values and religious principles and have denied the precepts of Islam, which protects and defends the sanctity of the human soul and calls for its protection.

The Secretariat General of the Academy supports all measures taken by the Jordanian government to ensure the safety of its citizens.

In disapproving of these criminal acts, the Secretariat affirms to the world the positions of all Muslim scholars and intellectuals who vigorously denounce all forms of fanaticism, violence and terrorism, regardless of their origin and motivation. It calls upon the human community to confront these crimes and end them.

The Secretariat implores Allah the Almighty to shower the martyrs with His mercy and approval, give speedy recovery to the injured, and multiply their rewards, He who is All-Knowing and All-Responding.

And may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.
