Secretary General of Moroccan Supreme Scientific Council meets IIFA Secretary General in Rabat

H.E. Dr. Muhammad Yasef, Secretary General of the Moroccan Supreme Scientific Council, received H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, on Wednesday 27 Shawal 1444, corresponding to 17 May 2023, at the headquarters of the Council in Rabat.

The Secretary General of the Council thanked His Excellency and the accompanying delegation for their visit, expressing his great joy to see him after the end of the pandemic, as His Excellency’s last visit to the Council took place during the pandemic. On that occasion, His Eminence expressed his great satisfaction and appreciation for the various awareness-raising and educational activities carried out by His Excellency at the global level to correct stereotypes about Islam and promote a culture of moderation, tolerance, and openness. They also discussed holding the next session of the Academy in cooperation with the Supreme Scientific Council and welcomed the idea. He promised that he would study the matter with his assistants and then inform the Secretariat General of the Academy.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Academy expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Eminence for his warm welcome and fraternal feelings, appreciating the great efforts made by the Supreme Scientific Council in responding to the requests for fatwas and advice in the public calamities and developments of the time, and praising the wise leadership of the Supreme Council by His Eminence since its inception until today. His Excellency also expressed his gratitude to His Eminence for the Council’s readiness to consider holding the next session of the Academy in Morocco, promising to provide all information related to the organisational, coordination and administrative aspects. His Excellency reiterated the Academy’s thanks to His Eminence and the Council for their contribution to the clarification, rationalisation and rectification of the Moroccan people, which has a great impact on the security of the nation and cooperation between the different segments of society, as well as on the promotion of coexistence between the different components of Moroccan society.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency submitted to His Eminence an official request for the holding of the next session of the Academy in the Kingdom of Morocco. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Adnan Al-Fihri, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the Academy, Mrs. Sarah Bint Amjad Hussein, Director of Family, Women and Children Affairs, and Mr. Saad Al-Sammar, Head of the Media Division.
