H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, chaired the 22nd joint weekly meeting of the departments and divisions on Wednesday 16 Jumada Al-Akhira 1446, corresponding to 18 December 2024, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.

His Excellency welcomed the attendees, and spoke about the importance of carrying out work according to the deadlines, the importance of cooperation for the advancement of the Academy, and the sense of responsibility before God and the leaders of the OIC member states and stressed on avoiding the practice of spreading false news, wasting time on curiosities, spreading false news, and spreading strife. His Excellency then informed the participants of the renewal of his contract with the Secretariat General of the Academy for a new term. On this occasion, he expressed his sincere thanks, appreciation, and great gratitude to the host State, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by H.E. Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, President of the Academy, for his continuous support and his keen attention to the future of the Academy, and expressed his thanks to the OIC Secretary General. He then called on everyone to continue their efforts and work in order to make more achievements and another qualitative leap for the Academy in the coming period.

His Excellency also spoke about his recent visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt and his meeting with H.E. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, who expressed his aspiration for the Arab Republic of Egypt to host one of the Academy’s sessions in Cairo.

The meeting discussed previous decisions and issued new ones, namely:

• Reviewing the comments of members and experts on the recommendations of the Cultured Meat Symposium.
• Following up preparations on the Family Institution in the 21st Century symposium, Challenges and Prospects, to be held in Turkey.
