Chairman of Transitional Legislative Council of Guinea visits the Academy

During his official visit to the Saudi Shura Council, H.E. Dr. Dansa Koroma, Chairman of the Transitional Legislative Council (Parliament) of the Republic of Guinea, accompanied by a high-level delegation, paid the first-ever visit to the Academy in Jeddah, on Saturday 21 Jumada Al-Akhira 1445, corresponding to 22 December 2024. His Excellency and the delegation were received by H.E. Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy.

The Secretary General of the Academy expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Guinean Legislative Council for this historic visit, which is the first of its kind for a high-ranking official from OIC Member states since the Academy’s creation, and conveyed to them the greetings of H.E. Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Hamid, Advisor at the Saudi Royal Court, Member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Imam-Khatib of Al-Masjid Al-Haram, President of the Academy. His Excellency then gave his distinguished guests a brief overview of the Academy’s vision, mission, and objectives, praising the generous material and moral support that the Academy receives from the Saudi leadership and people, stressing that the Academy is the leading religious authority for OIC Member states and Muslim communities to where they can refer to receive clarifications and Sharia rulings on contemporary issues and concerns. His Excellency then praised the support of the Republic of Guinea, as leadership and people, for the Academy by committing to follow its resolutions and recommendations in all matters and issues of concern to Muslims in the Republic of Guinea. His Excellency concluded by expressing his sincere wishes for continued success for H.E. General Mamadou Doumbia, President of the Republic of Guinea, and to the Guinean people.

For his part, the Chairman of the Legislative Council expressed his great pleasure to visit this important international scientific center, whose members are prominent scholars and intellectuals of the Ummah and expressed his great satisfaction with the role of the Academy in promoting moderation and spreading the culture of tolerance throughout the world. He also praised the outstanding efforts of the Secretary General of the Academy in promoting cooperation between the Academy and leading scientific institutions in OIC member countries and Muslim communities and assured him of the Republic of Guinea’s continued support. He concluded his speech by expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support to the Secretary General as one of the righteous sons of Guinea who was blessed to assume the post of Secretary General of the Academy, stressing that the successful He stressed that the success, development and progress achieved by the Academy under his leadership is due first to Allah and then to the support of the Saudi government under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, may Allah protect them.

At the end of the visit, the Chairman of the Transitional Legislative Council toured the departments and library of the Academy and was presented with a beautiful copy of the Book of Resolutions and some of the Academy’s publications.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Mohamed El-Amin Savani, Consul General of Guinea in Jeddah, H.E. Mr. Sanusi Bah, Advisor to the President of the Transitional Legislative Council, and the Director of his office, members of the Guinean diplomatic corps, in addition to Mr. Mohamed Chouk, Director of Cabinet and Protocols, and Mr. Amjad Al-Mansi, Head of Protocols at the Academy.
