Chaired by His Excellency Prof. Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, the Academy held its one hundred and fiftieth weekly departmental meeting on Monday, 2 Rajab 1447 AH, corresponding to 22 December 2025, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.
At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees. He spoke about the importance of these meetings in accomplishing administrative and scholarly tasks and facilitating their follow-up, emphasising their role in maintaining the continuity of successful work. He also prayed during the meeting that Allah grant the Director of the Conferences and Symposia Department a speedy recovery and well-being. He further referred to the upcoming meeting the day after tomorrow with the Deputy Secretary-General of the Muslim World League to consult on several topics related to preparations for the Religious Leaders Symposium, which is planned to be held in collaboration between the two institutions.
Following that, the meeting discussed the items of the resolutions issued in the previous session, and several new decisions were issued, the most prominent of which were:
• Selecting two or three books that are clearly aligned with the Academy’s mission and objectives, to be published under its name.
• Communicating with “Dar Mufakkirun” to obtain a specific timeline for completing the printing of the remaining issues of the Academy’s journal, followed by preparing a dedicated budget proposal for it.
• Finalising the design of the session research papers and the accompanying booklet.
• Working to find a permanent solution for periodically replacing the flags of member states at the building’s entrance.
• Preparing a congratulatory letter to His Excellency, the Minister of Religious Affairs in Malaysia, on the occasion of his assumption of office.
