The 159th weekly meeting of the Academy’s departments was chaired by His Excellency Prof. Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary General of the Academy, on Tuesday, 2 Dhul‑Hijjah 1447 AH, corresponding to 19 May 2026, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and spoke about the virtues of these blessed days of the first ten of Dhul‑Hijjah, reminding everyone of the importance of increasing good deeds during this period and seizing the opportunity of multiplied reward. He also emphasised the importance of clearly defining the functional responsibilities of departments, division heads, and staff members to enable proper year-end performance evaluation based on clear, organised criteria.
His Excellency further noted that a large number of scholarly papers submitted for the 27th Session have now reached the Academy. He explained that the academic review process is ongoing, with observations and required notes recorded, in preparation for sending the papers that meet the academic and technical requirements for printing, while the remaining papers await completion of necessary revisions.
The meeting then discussed several administrative and organisational matters related to the workflow within the Academy’s departments. A number of decisions were issued, the most important of which are:
• Expediting the identification of appropriate solutions for staff computer devices—whether through purchase, replacement, or maintenance—and replacing devices that require upgrading.
• Proceeding with the final layout and coordination for printing the new Strategic Plan of the Academy for 2026–2030.
• Finalising the preparation of the completed version of the topic “Medical Contemporary Issues and Developments,” in preparation for sending it directly for printing.
