
His Excellency Professor Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, chaired the sixty‑sixth monthly meeting for the Academy’s staff on Sunday, 6 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 21 June 2026, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and congratulated them on the advent of the new Hijri year 1448 AH. He also reviewed his recent participation in the Third Summit of Religious Leaders in Malaysia and the 12th Doha Islamic Finance Conference, noting the meetings he held with several Malaysian officials regarding arrangements for hosting the 27th session of the Academy Council. He praised the Research Department’s efforts in reviewing the papers for the upcoming session and following up with researchers on scholarly revisions, commending the progress made in this regard.
His Excellency explained that the meeting was intended to serve as an opportunity for constructive dialogue, to address challenges, and to listen to the suggestions and views of the Academy’s staff, in a way that contributes to improving the work environment and strengthening institutional communication among departments and divisions.
The meeting discussed several administrative and organisational matters and resulted in a set of decisions and directives, the most notable of which were:
- Completion of the initial review distinguishing between authored works and published research, and verification of documentation for both research and authored works for the preliminary version of the Dictionary of the Academy’s Distinguished Scholars, along with refining the list of experts.
- Preparing and finalising the pending issues of the Academy’s Journal in order to expedite their printing, and submitting a report on their status.
