
His Excellency Professor Dr Koutoub Moustapha Sano, Secretary‑General of the Academy, chaired the 160th weekly meeting for department directors on Tuesday, 8 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to 23 June 2026, at the Academy’s headquarters in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the attendees and reviewed the outcomes of the meetings and discussions he held with several Malaysian officials regarding the hosting of the 27th session of the Academy Council.
His Excellency also inquired about the progress of the scholarly work related to the session’s research papers, emphasising the importance of continued follow‑up and coordination with the relevant parties to complete the research within the specified timelines. He stressed that this ensures the desired academic quality and presents the work in a manner befitting the Academy’s distinguished scholarly standing.
Following this, the meeting discussed several administrative and organisational matters related to workflow within the Academy’s departments. A number of decisions and directives were issued, the most notable of which were:
- Approving the necessary procedures for updating and maintaining staff computers, equipment, and expediting the replacement of devices that require renewal, in order to enhance performance, efficiency and improve the work environment.
- Initiating the process of obtaining International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) for the Academy’s Book of Resolutions and its various scholarly publications, to support their dissemination and ensure proper documentation in accordance with recognised international standards.

Reviewing and verifying the scholarly data included in the A‘lām al‑Majma‘ (Biographical Dictionary of the Academy’s Members and Experts) project, ensuring the accuracy of the listed works and research, and confirming their alignment with verified academic records, in order to guarantee the precision of information and the scholarly quality of the book.
