{O reassured soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My servants, and enter My Paradise}

With hearts filled with absolute faith in Allah’s decree and destiny, and with souls that submit completely to Allah’s prevailing will and His inevitable appointed time, the International Islamic Fiqh Academy received on Sunday, 27 Muharram 1448 AH corresponding to 12 July 2026, the news of the passing of the late His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to the mercy of his Lord — well-pleased and pleasing, God willing.

On this sad occasion, the International Islamic Fiqh Academy — its presidency, members, experts, and staff — extend their sincere condolences to the State of Qatar, its government and people. We beseech the Generous Lord to have mercy on the deceased, to forgive him, to pardon him, to accept him among the highest ranks in Paradise, to grant him spacious gardens of Paradise, and to gather him with those upon whom Allah has bestowed favor: the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous — and excellent are those as companions.

We also humbly implore the Most Gentle, the Almighty to grant His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the great Qatari people, the Islamic nation, and the world at large, patience, solace, and contentment with what the Most Merciful has decreed.

The International Islamic Fiqh Academy will remain grateful, appreciative, and mindful of His Highness — may Allah forgive him — for the great services he rendered to the nation and for the honorable stances that time will not erase. May Allah, whose power is exalted and whose might is great, continue to bestow upon the State of Qatar the blessings of security, safety, stability, and prosperity.

Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.
