Under the chairmanship of His Excellency Professor Dr. Koutob Moustapha Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy, the Academy held its 163rd weekly meeting of the departments on Tuesday, 14 Safar 1448 AH, corresponding to 28 July 2026, at the headquarters of the Academy’s General Secretariat in Jeddah.

His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the participants, then spoke about his official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, undertaken at the gracious invitation of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to sign a memorandum of cooperation and hold meetings with scholars and intellectuals. He also announced to the participants the approval of the Kingdom of Morocco to host the forthcoming 28th session of the Academy Council Conference.

The meeting then discussed a number of administrative and organizational matters relating to the functioning of the Academy’s various departments and the follow-up of the implementation of previous decisions.

The meeting adopted several decisions, the most important of which were:

• Prepare a letter of appreciation to His Excellency the Moroccan Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and to the President of the Higher Council of Ulema and invite the latter to attend the scientific symposium.
• Update the assessment report on employees’ computers and expedite maintenance and replacement procedures.
• Convert newsletters, annual reports and brochures into electronic formats equipped with a QR Code, and publish them on the Academy’s website.
• Submit a comprehensive report reviewing external contracts for translation, printing and publishing, and follow up on the implementation of cooperation agreements for translating the Academy’s resolutions into the following languages: Persian, Urdu and Hausa.
